The potential for generative AI in government and public services
Governments and public service agencies understand the enormous potential of generative AI. Recent research by McGuire Research Services for Avanade, shows 82% of government employees are using AI on a daily or weekly basis, while 84% of organisations plan to increase their IT investments by up to 24% to take advantage of AI.
Preparing workforce for GenAI goes beyond productivity and efficiency
New research from Avanade and McGuire Research Services of IT and business decision makers shows that organizations are already using this technology today and seeking to push the limits in the coming year. They are primarily using it for automating regular repetitive tasks, translating vast amounts of data to help employees make better decisions, and personalizing or streamlining touchpoints with customers/citizens/beneficiaries.
Reinventing Work: Unveiling the Work Innovators’ Blueprint for Success
A total of 1,940 survey participants were analyzed for the research reported, with 435 (23% of the sample) representing C-suite roles. In May and June 2023, the Upwork Research Institute, in collaboration with ClearlyRated, polled 1,418 business decision-makers in the United States. The survey covered seven key industries: software & technology, retail, healthcare, manufacturing, financial services, media and telecommunications, and business and professional services. Later, in September 2023, the Upwork Research Institute fielded a global business decision-maker survey of 522 participants in collaboration with McGuire Research, which included the following countries: Australia, Canada, China, Germany, Spain, France, United Kingdom, India, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Philippines, and the US.
Avanade Research Dispels AI Job Displacement Fears but Uncovers Staggering Skills Gap
The survey was conducted in August 2023, by McGuire Research Services on behalf of Avanade. 3,000 qualified respondents were self-reported to be between the ages of 18 and 65; located in and working for a company headquartered in one of the following countries: Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, United Kingdom, and United States; working for a company in one of the following industries: Banking, Energy, Government, Health, Life Sciences, Manufacturing, Non-profit, Retail, and Utilities; working for a company with annual revenue of or greater than $500 million; with a job title level of staff or specialist, mid-level management, senior executive, or C-level; a role in AI decisions for their company for mid-level management titles or higher; and awareness of their company’s current AI strategies for staff and specialist titles. Respondents were not asked to identify the name of their company. The survey was conducted in both English and in the native languages of the countries included, with respondents choosing the language.

The New Face of Compliance is Adaptable, Data Rich and Tech-Driven, Accenture Report Finds
Accenture commissioned McGuire Research Services to carry out a survey-based study of compliance leaders. The Compliance Risk Study — 2022 Edition research was conducted from August to September 2021, and surveyed 860 compliance leaders including Chief Compliance Officers, Chief Risk Officers, and heads of compliance functions. Study participants were sourced from around the world across 10 sectors: banking; capital markets; energy; health and public services; insurance; life sciences; software & platforms; telecommunications; utilities; and travel and hospitality.
